On October 7-8, 2024, the Ministry of Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs (MIPA), under the leadership of Minister Hon. Melanio U. Ulama, conducted a seminar on Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) at Hotel Al-Maseer. The event gathered 50 participants from the Blaan tribe, including youth, tribal leaders, and women.

The seminar aimed to raise awareness about VAWC, empowering the Blaan community to combat violence and protect women’s rights. The activity was led by the Gender and Development Focal Deputy Minister Hon. Suadi Campong Pagayao, ensuring the active participation of the community in discussions on gender rights and protection.
