In line with the mandate of the Bangsamoro government to ensure peace and development in its constituent communities, the Ministry of Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs (MIPA) conducted the “Crafting of Conflict Mechanism of the Yakan of Basilan Province” on November 19-20, 2022 in Isabela City, Basilan”.
The main purpose of the activity is to craft a Conflict Mechanism for the Yakan of Basilan through the collaborative efforts of 21 tribal leaders and elders, provincial, municipal, and barangay chieftains, IP Women’s groups and IP youth leaders facilitated by MIPA representatives from the Customary Laws and Traditional Justice System Division.
