Just today, MIPA Post Calamity Response Team met with the tribal leaders and IP Mandatory Representatives from Matuber, Datu Blah Sinsuat and Badak-Kusiong-Tapian, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte. This meeting in Badak, Kusiong discussed updates on the situation of Typhoon Paeng-affected IP families, validation of data , continued interventions for them and early recovery concerns.

As an update, the evacuees from Cotabato City Hall and Broce Elementary School have returned back to Kusiong and been staying in make-shift tents in Kusiong. Other evacuees settled and shared shelter with relatives while awaiting for the temporary evacuation center that will be built for them.

In continuing its programs and services to the affected families, MIPA assists the affected families in securing pertinent documents such as Certificate of Tribal Membership, Accreditation of Tribal Marriage, waivers, affidavits or other legal services.

To ease them of the process, a One-Stop-Shop Issuance of Documents will be scheduled later. Prior processing has been facilitated with the assistance of the tribal leaders and community volunteers. Financial assistance for tertiary education and for senior citizens and PWDs were also coordinated to the IP victims. Other recovery plans discussed were community tree planting activities in Serenangan, Badak, Mt. Minandar, and Brao, Matuber. This meeting has also validated gathered and disaggregated data that will be submitted to BARMM READi, who leads the Emergency Operation Center in BARMM.

To sustain all these initiatives, MIPA has organized community volunteers, the tribal leaders and IP Mandated Representatives for specific roles and better coordination.
