Datu Blah Sinsuat Municipality | In line with the celebration of IP Month, the Ministry of Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs (MIPA) conducted Free Legal Aid and Notarial Services and Outreach Program for Indigenous Peoples on October 5, 2022, in partnership with the Bangsamoro Attorney Generals Office (BAGO), Integrated BAR of the Philippines (IBP) Cotabato Chapter, Public Attorneys Office-Maguindanao, Project TABANG, Philippine National Police, NAPOLCOM and the Local Government of Datu Blah Sinsuat Municipality.
The program aims to assist the IPs in their legal concerns and registration of their birth and marriage; drafting and notarization of simple affidavits;processing of Certificate of Tribal Membership and Accreditation of Tribal Marriage; provide libreng gupit; and distribution of relief packs from Project TABANG.
The said activity was headed by the Legal Division of the Ministry of Indigenous Peoples Affairs under the supervision of Atty. Mona B. Diragen, Legal Officer of the Ministry.
Meanwhile, in his message, Minister Melanio U. Ulama gave emphasis that collaboration among different ministries and agencies in BARMM is indispensable in order to uplift the lives of every Bangsamoro People, especially the Indigenous Peoples so as to ensure that no one will be left behind.
