WAO, Lanao Del Sur, 30 Indigenous Peoples Adult Literacy Completers graduated at Lanao del Sur yesterday, October 19, 2022.

This program is under the MIPA cultural affairs section. The IP adult literacy completers also received 5 kilos of rice each and transportation allowance.

The activity was held during the celebration of IP Month of the different IP Groups in the said Municipality.

The celebration was graced by the Provincial Governor Mamintal Bombit Adiong, who gave his full support to the IP Community. The Municipal Mayor Elvino “Nono” Balicao Jr. was also present together with Municipal Councilor Jamal Adiong and ABC President Ricardo Dusil.

The Provincial IPMR Alicozaman Mangata was represented by his daughter Director Alieda Mangata Noor.

In behalf of Minister Melanio U. Ulama, MIPA Minister, the Ancestral Domain Division Chief Jocelyn S. Palao attended the celebration and read the importance of celebrating the IP month with stipulated legal basis,the mipa mandates and programs implemented in line with the 4 bundles of rights.

Lastly ,the IPs of Lanao del Sur were grateful of the governor’s message that, “Magpapatayo ng tribal hall upang doon kayo magtipon-tipon upang maging inyong opisina kung saan kayo magsasagawa ng inyong meeting at ito din ay magiging opisina ng inyong bagong IPMR kasama ng mga tribal leaders”, he said.

The program ended with the full support from the Government of Lanao del Sur and you can see and felt that the happiness of the IP’s.
